320 FILOSOFIANA

Sicily 2015

Based on the magnificent mosaics in the Villa Romana del Casale in Sicily (320. A.D) ‘320 Filosofiana’ tells the story of the decline of the humanities. It deals with forced relocation by pointing out omissions and digging into Max Weber’s ‘the decay of ancient civilization’. The images are juxtaposed by Peter Ablinger’s music – a reference to Theodor Adorno’s and Hans Eisler’s book ‘composing for the films’, which the two immigrants wrote in Hollywood.
